The legendary band Queen has inspired numerous modern Artists and remained a global legend! The music is not only still played by many but also used in commercials and films and with the recent Biopic about Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody, the hype about the band has once again risen to the surface.

In Montreux, Switzerland there is a Queen Museum which used to be the Studio where numerous Queen albums where recorded. For all those who think Switzerland is expensive, the museum is free for entry!

Queen, the Studio Experience located in Montreux, Switzerland

Montreux, a city at the shore of Lake Geneva in Switzerland was home to Freddie Mercury and was a treasured location by all band members of Queen.

In honor of Freddie Mercury, a statue is found a few feet away from the museum right at the shore of the lake.

The Casino Barriere of Montreux

The museum is located in the original recording studio in the Casino of Montreux. Between 1979-1996, Queen recorded 7 albums at Mountain Records Studio in Montreux. A place with rich significance in the world of Artists.

A hidden secret: until the year 2013, the Mountain Records Studio had turned into a nightclub. Out of personal experience may I say, it was one of the best clubs in Montreux with a magical vibe! I will never forget some of the parties having taken place at this former club!

Tribute Wall

Outside of the Casino, just behind the doors of the former principal entry to the Mountain Record Studio, there is a Queen Tribute Wall where visitors can leave their testimony.

Visitors from all over the world have left their mark on this wall in memory to the legendary band Queen.

Mercury Phoenix Trust

The Mercury Phoenix Trust is an organization which fights Aids worldwide and is founded by Brian May, Roger Taylor and Jim Beach.

They are also the founders and creators of the Museum and they also organize events fighting for this cause. To read more about the organization click here.

Since 2010, the event Freddie for a Day takes place around the world and is an event which raises awareness about Aids. If you want to read more about this event in Montreux read here.

The next Freddie for a Day in Montreux, Switzerland is happening from the 5th until 8th this September 2019. To read more about the event click here.

We are generation change.
