The 14 waterfalls of Trümmelbach | Lauterbrunnen
One of the most beautiful and inspirational regions of Switzerland, Lauterbrunnen is home to over 72 waterfalls including the Trümmelbach falls where you can explore 14 waterfalls in one single mountain where 10 of them are literally found inside the mountain. There's nothing quite like raising your energy than by standing in front of a powerful waterfall and these falls, well there is a reason they are called the beating drums. Read on to find out more.
Trümmelbach: the beating drums
The Trümmelbach falls in the Bernese Oberland stem from glaciers in the surrounding areas, the infamous big three mountains Eicher, Mönch and Jungfrau carrying 20'000 liters of water per second!
As there are 14 waterfalls all together in this one creek, 10 of the waterfalls are found within the mountain, where you take a funicular ( a lift) up the mountain and walk through various passageways and stairs to access them all. The other 4 are found around the mountain, two of which you find whilst walking up to the lift and two whilst leaving the mountain coming back down.
Its a beautiful energizing journey to undertake and once you visit you'll understand why the name itself means the beating drums... the sound of the water hitting the rock in different intensity truly is a musical spectacle.

Opening hours: Beginning April until beginning November from 9:00 – 17:00 (8:30-18:00 in July and August)
Duration: Between 40 minutes - 60 minutes
Tip: No matter how warm it is outside, take warmer clothes as inside the mountain it can get a bit chilly and you will be splashed a little bit here and there.
